New Script Submission to the NI Audit Office Review of Prescribing

PPR

Description:

The Audit Office Review is looking at how prescribing in primary care has changed since 2014 and whether current efforts to manage costs and improve the use of medicines are working effectively.

New Script’s submission examines rising antidepressant prescribing, inequalities, informed consent, withdrawal, access to alternatives and the wider social factors shaping prescribing. It calls for medicines optimisation to focus not only on cost and efficiency, but on safety, outcomes, lived experience, meaningful choice and investment in non-medical support.
